“A coach is someone who can give correction without causing resentment”
John Wooden – Retired NCAA Basketball Coach
No one should have a coach to be told what to do. The reason for a coach is to be empowered to take your thoughts and ideas to a new level of action. A coach can be either a benefit or a barrier to your success.
Pushing responsibility away from yourself and pushing them onto someone else is NOT the purpose behind having a coach. To do so leads only to a profound lose of time and money!
Coaching is about creating change
The definition of insanity is, “Continuing to do what you’ve always done and expect different results.” An effective coach listens to your ideas and then with your help shifts those ideas into profitable action.
The coach appears when the student is ready!
This guy is walking down the street when he falls into a man hole. The walls are so steep, he can’t get out. A doctor passes by and the guy shouts up, “Hey, Doc, can you help me out?” The doctor writes a prescription, throws it down into the hole and moves on.
Then a priest comes along and the guy shouts, “Father, I’m down in this hole, can you help me out?” The priest writes a prayer, throws it down into the hole and moves on.
Then Average Joe walks by. “Hey, Joe, can you help me out?” Joe jumps in the hole. The guy says, “Are you stupid? Now we’re both down here!” And Joe says, “Yeah, but I’ve been down here before and I know the way out.”
